What happens at the first visit?

We walk the property together. We want to hear how you use the place now and how you would like to: where you sit in the evening, what you see from the kitchen window, what gets in the way. We talk through what the site will allow and what it wants to be. By the end of the visit you will have a clear sense of the possibilities and of how we would work together.

Do you design and build, or one or the other?

Both, and that is the point. The same people who draw the plan build it. Every project begins with a quick watercolor sketch, becomes a 3D model rendered from the places you will actually stand, and then those same drawings go to our crew. One team, one plan, and no handoff where the idea gets lost.

How long does a project take?

It depends on scope, permits and weather. A small terrace can go in over a few weeks; a whole property with a pool, walls and planting is a season's work, sometimes more. Once we have walked the site and agreed on the drawings, we give you a real schedule and keep you informed as it moves.

Do you handle permits and CRMC approvals?

Yes. Pools, structures and any work near the shore in Rhode Island can involve town permits and, on coastal lots, the Coastal Resources Management Council. We identify what your project needs during design and manage the applications with you, so approvals are part of the plan rather than a surprise.
